About Ballito

Located a short drive north of Durban, Ballito is an affluent town and a popular getaway on KwaZulu-Natal’s Dolphin Coast. Once a sugar cane farm, it was developed in 1954 as a private township and has rapidly grown since, with shopping malls, family-friendly attractions and beautiful beaches adding to its allure.

Things to do in Ballito

For a retail fix, head to the Ballito Junction Regional Mall, which is home to more than 200 stores set across three levels. You can shop for the latest fashions at Cotton On, pick up a new pair of shoes at Side Step or browse the leather goods at The Coachman. The complex is also home to a cinema complex and plenty of eateries, including Chicken Licken, Simply Asia and the Sausage Saloon.

One of Ballito’s most popular stretches of sand is Willard Beach, which is backed by a breezy promenade lined with cafes and restaurants.
