The Triberg Waterfalls cascade more than 150 metres down fern-covered cliffs. The falls are fed by the Gutach River and open year-round. Explore shady hiking trails in the summer and visit in winter to see the falls covered in shimmering snow and ice.

Perched on a hilltop and surrounded by fir trees, Maria in der Tanne looks like something from a German storybook. The Baroque church dates back to the 18th century and is built on the site of a natural spring said to have healing powers.

Watch the World’s Largest Cuckoo Clock chime twice every hour. The cuckoo bird is more than four metres long and weighs an impressive 150 kilograms. Want to buy your own cuckoo clock? Triberg im Schwarzwald is one of the best places in Germany to purchase the famous pendulum clocks. Local craftspeople have been building them in the town for centuries.
