We stayed at the Conrad for the first time this year during the Festival of Lights. It was terrific! We booked a room with a Michigan Avenue view. I was pleasantly surprised at the price. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly. Multiple employees made sure we knew where to go for registration (top floor), where elevators were, etc. Check-in was a breeze. I was concerned that our room appeared small online, and it was on the small side of what I am used to. However, the floor plan flowed so well that the room felt very spacious and comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable. It was very clean, nicely decorated, and had very nice amenities, including a very good restaurant. The hotel is downtown, and is within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and attractions. Due to this, there was some street noise noted while in the room, but it was less than I would have expected, and didn't interfere with sleep. The hotel always had a number of very friendly employees at the door and in the lobby to help with any questions we had, from where to eat or directions to the closest ATM, to hail taxis, or to offer hotel umbrellas. As a general note, Chicago is a wonderful place to visit. Everyone we met was friendly, and there was so much to do and see. I am already planning trip there for the whole family this spring!
