Where to stay in Al Aqah

About Al Aqah

Set between the Indian Ocean and the Hajar Mountains, Aqah is known for its luxe all-inclusive beach resorts. It's a mecca for sunseekers, with a golden sandy beach and plenty of swaying palms, along with deep-sea fishing charters and scenic cruises in the Musandam Peninsula.

Things to do

Aqah's luxury resorts treat guests to private beach access and plenty of sun lounges. You can also relax by sparkling pools, dine at high-end restaurants or treat yourself to a day at the spa.

Fujairah is famous for its fly-fishing, so why not cast out a line? Deep-sea fishing charters unlock access to some of the best fishing spots in the UAE, where you can reel in tuna, barracuda, kingfish, golden dorado, sailfish and shark.

Aqah backs onto the Gulf of Oman, which means there's plenty of snorkelling and scuba diving on offer. The dramatic Musandam Peninsula is another popular day trip. It's known as the "Norway of the Gulf" and is famous for its emerald water and rugged fjords. If you're lucky you might spot dolphins frolicking in the Strait of Hormuz.

For a lively street scene, venture down the coast to Khor Fakkan. The bustling town is fringed by a breezy palm-lined promenade and a sandy beach. It's also home to a handful of archaeological sites, stone tombs and ancient petroglyphs.

Getting around

The easiest way to explore Aqah is by car. Most luxury resorts are happy to arrange day trips and hiring a private driver is a convenient way to get around. By car, Aqah is 90 minutes from Dubai International Airport.
