About Blue Lagoon

One of the world’s most famous natural attractions, the Blue Lagoon offers an utterly rejuvenating and relaxing experience in south-west Iceland. The geothermal spa sits in a lava field and boasts warm waters rich in healthy minerals, including silica and sulphur. Open year-round, the Blue Lagoon is renowned for helping people with psoriasis and the water is completely renewed every 48 hours.

You can indulge in the main communal pool, called Blue Lagoon, or splurge on a luxurious visit to The Retreat Spa. In the Blue Lagoon, the Comfort admission includes a silica mud mask and complimentary beverage, while the Premium package features an additional drink, slippers and mask of choice.

You can choose from a range of spa treatments, such as the Blue Lagoon Ritual, which uses silica, algae and minerals, or an in-water massage. Wrap up your visit with a gourmet meal of fresh Icelandic cuisine at the on-site Lava Restaurant.

Getting there

The Blue Lagoon is about 45 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik, with ample on-site parking available. It’s a popular stop-over experience, thanks to it being only 20 minutes’ drive from Keflavík International Airport.
