About Everett, MA

Sprawling north of Boston, Everett is a popular residential area along the banks of the Mystic River. It’s named after the 15th Governor of Massachusetts, Edward Everett, who also served as the former president of nearby Harvard University. Everett centres around a bustling business district packed with retail stores and restaurants.

Things to do in Everett

You can get active at the MetroRock Climbing Center, which has a variety of walls for both beginners and seasoned climbers. There are professional instructors on hand to help you learn the ropes, as well as equipment and training areas where experienced climbers can practice bouldering, top-rope and lead climbing. Adjacent to the MetroRock Climbing Center is the Sky Zone Trampoline Park, a family-friendly hub for freestyle bouncing.

In the north-east of Everett is the Woodlawn Cemetery, where some of Everett’s most prominent residents are laid to rest. Established in 1850, it was later enlarged to encompass the historic Corbett Farm. Stroll along the leafy walking trails to admire the elaborate gravestones and visit the two-storey Versailles Mausoleum.

Hugging the Mystic River is the Mystic River Reservation, which was one of the first nature reserves in Massachusetts when it was laid out in 1893. It’s a popular setting for picnics, sailing and field sports and features a network of scenic cycling and walking trails. Directly across the Mystic River is the LEGOLAND Discovery Center, where you’ll find Lego-themed rides, a 4D cinema and fun hands-on activities.

Getting around Everett

Everett is a 15-minute drive from the centre of Boston and 20 minutes from Boston Logan International Airport. Trains travel to the nearby Wellington transit station, from where buses connect to destinations throughout Everett.
