About Fort Worth Zoo

Founded in 1909 with a handful of species, Fort Worth Zoo is now home to about 7,000 animals from around the globe. It’s regularly voted as one of the top zoos in the United States and contributes to a range of conservation and wildlife education programs to ensure the survival of critically endangered species.

Discover exotic and colourful bird species in the World of Primates’ atrium, which is also home to black-and-white colobus monkeys and white-cheeked gibbons. Asian elephants, Malayan tigers and rhinos highlight the Asian Falls exhibit, together with white tigers, sun bears and striped hyenas.

Admire the American, Chilean and lesser flamingos at Flamingo Bay and get up close to the colony of meerkats, then see big-game wildlife at the African Savanna. Fort Worth Zoo also features a Texas Wild exhibit showcasing native species, such as black-tailed prairie dogs, roadrunners and swift foxes.
