Things to do

For a dose of culture, visit the Kingaroy Heritage Museum. Tour displays of agricultural machinery that served the peanut industry throughout the ages and check out unique inventions, including a bicycle-powered thresher built in 1909 and a stationary thresher from the 1920s.

If you’re looking for a keepsake from your travels, stop in at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery, the oldest public art space in South Burnett. The gallery offers local rotational exhibits, impressive pottery and ceramics and a small gift shop where you can pick out a piece to take home with you.

Journey into outer space at the Kingaroy Observatory. This public stargazing attraction features three Meade telescopes to show you the moon, stars and planets up close. During daytime hours, you can have a seat in their air-conditioned Star Theatre to observe the surface of the sun projected onto a big screen.

Spend a day out at the Crane Winery on the Booie Range. Enjoy delectable wine tasting, soak in stunning countryside views and indulge in one of their meat and cheese platters while sitting on the verandah.

Getting around

Kingaroy is less than 210 kilometres from Brisbane. The best way to get around is by car, but Kingaroy is also served by major bus lines connecting to nearby cities.
