About Naẖsholim

Once home to the Palestinian village of al-Tantura, Nahsholim is a kibbutz and beach resort in the north of Israel. It lies adjacent to the ancient settlement of Tel Dor, which was inhabited from the Late Bronze Age to the Crusader period when it served as a gateway between the East and West.

Lapped by the Mediterranean Sea is Nahsholim’s wide expanse of sand where you can swim and sunbathe in the summer months. The shallow waters make it ideal for families and it’s a picturesque spot for strolling. Windsurfing equipment and paddle boards can be rented at the Surge Cruise Club.

Occupying a two-storey stone building in the heart of Nahsholim is the Mizgaga Museum, which houses nautical and archaeological artefacts discovered in the region. It was originally opened in 1891 as a glass bottle factory and was restored in the 1980s to showcase findings from Tel Dor.

Getting there

Nahsholim is around 30 minutes’ drive from Haifa Airport, which has limited flights to destinations across Europe. The much larger Ben Gurion International Airport is just over an hour away. Buses connect to Nahsholim and the beach resort is small enough to explore on foot.
