Don’t miss seeing the towering Phra Pathom Chedi, a renowned stupa. It’s part of the Wat Phra Pathommachedi Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan and showcases 6th and 8th-century Thai architecture. The nearby Wat Huai Chorakhe occupies a serene riverfront setting and boasts numerous Buddha relics.

Admire the stunning architecture and picturesque grounds dotted with manicured lawns, serene ponds and flower gardens at the Sanam Chandra Palace. The palace complex includes numerous halls and residences, along with iconic statues and the gilded Ganesh memorial. Check out the Bhimarn Prathom Residence on site to admire elaborate Thai carvings, a royal bed chamber and an exquisite religious mural.

Getting around

Nakhon Pathom is easily reached by catching buses from Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal or riding one of a number of trains from Thonburi Train Station. You can walk around parts of the city, but it’s best to use motorcycle taxis or tuk-tuks for longer distances.
