About Ocean Shores

Wedged between the Pacific Ocean and the sparkling waters of Grays Harbor, Ocean Shores is a small city on the doorstep of some of Washington’s most magnificent landscapes. Its secluded beaches and ancient rainforests promote outdoor adventures, while its artistic community is showcased in galleries.

Things to do in Ocean Shores

Birdwatchers should visit the Oyhut Wildlife Recreation Area, where ever-shifting sand dunes and salt marshes provide a natural habitat for great blue herons, black-bellied plovers and bald eagles. Alternatively, embark on the Damon Point Trail along the shores of Grays Harbor, which is frequented by a variety of shorebirds, snowy owls and endangered snowy plovers.

Discover the community’s artistic creativity at the Gallery of Ocean Shores, which showcases the work of local artists and hosts regular art workshops. Across the road is the Fusions Gallery where you can also pick up unique local artworks and handcrafted souvenirs.

A short drive north of Ocean Shores takes you to the Olympic National Forest, a magical landscape of ancient trees and glacier-carved mountains. Spot herds of elk roaming through the Hoh Rainforest and hike along Hurricane Ridge, then photograph the vibrant blue waters of Lake Crescent.

Keen golfers can enjoy the fairways of the Ocean Shores Golf Course, which combines the openness of a links-style course with the challenges of a narrow, wooded course. Work on your swing on the practice range or book a lesson at the pro shop, then grab a refreshing drink at the clubhouse.
