About Taiping District

Sprawling in the east of Taichung City, Taiping District was originally established as a rural township following the handover of Taiwan between Japan and China in 1945. It’s dotted with Buddhist temples and traversed by several hiking trails while offering sweeping views across Taichung City from the Hongxi Taiping Golf Course.

Things to do in Taiping District

One of the most unique attractions in Taiping District is the Batman Cave Bridge, a bat-themed footbridge connecting across a stream of the Dadu River to the Bat Cave Extension Trail. This short but picturesque hiking route leads through the nearby woodlands and offers photogenic views of the Buddhist temple complex that lies nearby.
