Minato Mirai 21 is Yokohama’s thriving downtown centre, comprised of shops, restaurants and amusement rides. Shoppers can browse more than 600 stores boasting a range of fashion items and trendy souvenirs, while the theme parks provide a perfect location for families to go and enjoy the waterfront.

The Landmark Tower situated in Minato Mirai is an ideal spot for shopping and dining while overlooking the bay below. The tallest tower in Japan, it contains an observation deck on the 69th floor where you can feast your eyes on 360-degree views of the cityscape, and on clear days you can see all the way to Mt. Fuji.

When you need to escape the urban bustle head to the traditional Sankeien Gardens, adorned with ponds, streams and rolling walkways. Enjoy a peaceful tour of the lotus flowers or cherry blossoms in full bloom, pet the resident cats or set up a picnic.

Getting around

Yokohama is served by the Tōkaidō Shinkansen, routing to the main Yokohama Station that connects with an abundance of train lines. For a more intimate sightseeing experience, you can take a boat cruise across the bay.
