Explore the themed attractions of Gwangmyeong Cave, which encompasses a former gold, silver and bronze mine used during the Japanese occupation. Experience the light shows, wildlife-filled aquariums and the largest dragon sculpture in South Korea, before grabbing a drink at the underground winery.

Mingle with locals during an exciting baseball game at the Gocheok Sky Dome, home to the Nexen Heroes professional baseball team. Alternatively, witness a cycling race at the helmet-shaped Gwangmyeong Velodrome, the largest domed structure in South Korea.

Learn about Korea’s unique Seonbi culture at the Chunghyeon Museum, which celebrates the life and work of Joseon-dynasty prime minister, Ori Yi Won-ik. Getting around

Gwangmyeong is a 15-minute train ride from the centre of Seoul and just over an hour from Incheon International Airport. The Seoul Subway system accesses the city and buses access most of Gwangmyeong’s sights.
