Sporting magnificent modern architecture and top-tier dining, entertainment, pool and spa options, ARIA stands tall as a hip resort in the heart of the Strip. The vibe: Modern, gleaming and chic. Luxury on all levels What we love: ARIA Las Vegas opened at the end of 2009 and it still has that new car smell. The rooms are a tech lover's dream, featuring the latest gadgetry (keyless locks, personalized automation, etc.). Each room includes an in-room tablet where you'll have one-touch control of lighting, temperature, draperies, music, in-room dining and more. Simply put, you're the master of your domain at ARIA Las Vegas. Open year-round, the pool area at ARIA is like something out of the Garden of Eden. Three ellipse-shaped pools are spread across a palm tree-laden deck. Insider tips: Be an art lover. ARIA's got an impressive fine art collection, and you don't have to pay a museum admission cost to view it. Several pieces dot the property's indoor and outdoor public spaces. So spend the day exploring, it's totally worth it. Spend an afternoon at ARIA's Spa & Salon. There are some seriously unique amenities in here including a Shio salt room (its salt-infused air improves both your breathing and skin) and Ganbanyoku heated stone beds, which are unbelievably soothing to your muscles. Good to know: There isn't a bad room in the house. Since the price point is elevated here, why not just go all out and upgrade to one of the Sky Suites? With the one-bedroom penthouse, not only will you get postcard-worthy views and more flat-screen TVs than you'd find in an electronics store, but you'll enjoy extras like limousine transport from the airport, a personal concierge and access to the private Sky Suites Lounge, where you can indulge in drinks (yes, this includes alcohol) and snacks all day and night long. If you're thinking of smoking in your room at ARIA, don't. At checkout, you might find you've been hit with a $500-$1000 smoking restoration fee. Be aware that most of the resort's rooms (98 percent of them, only a few high roller suites have been exempted) are nonsmoking, so the only places you'll be able to light up are on the casino floor or in various bars. Parking at ARIA seems more confusing than it really is. The only way to access this garage is by turning off the Strip onto Aria Place. Follow the signs (there is no light) as these will indicate where the left turnoff is to a long ramp that goes down into the garage. This feels trickier than it is because you don't actually see the garage they guide you towards.  We also just want to add that ARIA is set way back from the Strip. Of course, most Vegas Strip resorts involve a walk to reach Las Vegas Boulevard, but this is one of the longer ones. To get to the Strip, you'll have to go through The Shops at Crystals or walk along a series of shops parallel to City Center Place and take a pedestrian bridge across to The Shops at Crystals. Think of it as your workout to burn off those buffet calories.

Vegas hotels don't get any better than Wynn Las Vegas with its luxurious accommodations and the finest of fine restaurants and shops. The vibe: Razzle-dazzle architecture and décor, generously proportioned rooms, every possible convenience, totally gourmet. What we love: There's just something about staying at an elite hotel like Wynn that makes you feel swanky. Revered for elegance and for having incomparably high standards of service, it doesn't matter who you are because you'll feel like someone very important here. A breathtakingly beautiful atrium alive with trees, shrubs and flowers is situated near the lobby. We adore the two whimsical floral installations. One is a carousel, the other a hot air balloon - and both are sure to make your spirits soar. It goes without saying that Wynn would have a gorgeously landscaped pool deck. But we'll say it anyway because lying in the gardens beside either of the two lovely main pools (or splashing out for a cabana) is like escaping to "Fantasy Island".minus the plane, the island and Tattoo. Three words: Wynn Dream bed. Yes, this is a thing - more specifically, it's a custom-designed Sealy mattress dreamily made up with 507-thread-count linens and overstuffed pillows and shams. A perfect night's sleep is guaranteed.  Insider tips: Welcome vegans and vegetarians. All of the restaurants in Wynn (and Encore) have special menu items designed for you. So if you're out with a group, no worries. Wherever you choose to dine, there'll be something perfect for everyone to eat. Visit the Lake of Dreams, located behind the Strip's only manmade mountain. You can't see it from outside Wynn, but when you come inside look for the circular escalator and ride it to the bottom. From dusk until 12:30 a.m; fanciful shows filled with music and holographics play at half-hour intervals on the lake's 40-foot waterfall. The best viewing point is on the terrace of the bar called Aft. Nurse a drink or two and you'll have an evening of entertainment. Good to know: Wynn Resort rooms are big and well designed. The one thing they don't come with is a fridge. Now you will find a minibar in these rooms, but be warned: If you move anything from its place to make space for your own drinks and snacks, you'll automatically be billed for it. It seems silly to talk about upgrades at Wynn, but the possibilities are endless when every room and suite at this hotel feels like a little piece of heaven. That said, the Tower Suites have been awarded the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award for nine straight years. Counted among the finest boutique hotels in the world, they have their own exclusive entrance, lobby and pool. Wynn is connected to its even more elegant sister property. So if you find you want to dial down the crowds and energy level a notch, Encore's quieter, boutique-style offerings are just steps away. Wynn has an awesome self-parking garage, but be aware that on extremely busy weekends as well as during major events or big premieres, you may want to go next door and use the self-parking garage at Encore. Also as an FYI, no outside food or beverages are allowed in the resort or the casino, even if you're staying in a room. All guests who arrive with these items will be told to throw it away or leave it in their car.

About Las Vegas Harry Reid Intl Airport

The primary airport serving Las Vegas and its surrounding valley, McCarran International Airport is situated eight kilometres south of the Downtown area. It was named for Pat McCarran, a former senator who played an influential role in the development of aviation in Las Vegas and offers direct flights to destinations across North America, Europe and Asia.

McCarran International Airport operates from four runways and two terminal buildings, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, with Terminal 2 having been demolished in 2016. Terminal 1 is dedicated to domestic flights, with ticketing and baggage claim found on Level 1 and four concourses leading to the departure gates on Level 2. An esplanade with shops, cafes and restaurants is also located here, together with a USO lounge for military service members, the Centurion lounge for American Express card holders, a United Club, as well as the Club at LAS which is available to all paying passengers. The Howard W. Cannon Aviation Museum chronicles the early history of aviation in the region, dedicated to another former senator who also contributed to aviation development in Nevada. Terminal 3 handles all international flights and a few domestic connections, with retail outlets scattered throughout and two lounges. The airport is a major hub for Allegiant Air and Southwest Airlines who offer flights across the United States, as well international services with WestJet, Air Canada Rouge, Virgin Atlantic, Aeroméxico and British Airways.

A complimentary shuttle connects the two terminal buildings and parking lots, while another connects them to the rental car facility with is located around five kilometres from the airport. Public buses depart from Level 0 of Terminal 1 and Level 2 of Terminal 3 into the Downtown area and Las Vegas Valley, while private shuttles offer door-to-door services.

McCarran International Airport began operating commercial flights in 1948, serving just over 35,000 passengers in its first year. As casinos flourished in the city and air travel become more popular throughout the 1950s, demand on the airport increased dramatically, and a new passenger terminal was built in the early 1960s.
