About Adelaide Entertainment Centre

Located on Port Road, just to the north-west of the CBD, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre is the city’s premier indoor arena for sporting and entertainment events. It hosts big-name music artists, as well as national netball games, with state-of-the-art acoustics and spaces that can be easily transformed for multi-purpose use.

The Adelaide Entertainment Centre has the capacity to host 12,000 people, including 11,300 in the arena and 1,900 in its theatre, making it the fifth-largest permanent indoor arena in Australia. There’s a large foyer area, seven different function rooms for private events, as well as numerous administrative offices and backstage facilities. In addition to operating with a stage at one end, its arena can also be configured in a "360-degree" mode with the stage in the centre, in addition to an "intimate" mode for smaller performances of up to 4,500 patrons. Events operate with both allocated seating and general admission areas for musical performances, while corporate seating is also available. On-site caterers operate food and beverage stands within the foyer area for patrons, as well as servicing private functions, corporate events and banquets, with the capacity for a formal sit-down dinner for up to 1,000 guests. The heritage-listed Revelations Chapel is also located on-site, providing a non-denominational venue for weddings and the ability to sit up to 120 guests.

The Adelaide Entertainment Centre is served by public buses and trams which stop on Port Road outside the entrance, in addition to train services from the Bowden Railway Station just a short walk away. There are also 1,400 paid car parking spaces available on site and a taxi stand located adjacent to the main entrance.

Prior to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre’s opening in 1991, the 3,500 capacity Apollo Stadium was the main venue for indoor sports and entertainment events in the city. In 2007, the Entertainment Centre underwent a multi-million dollar major upgrade, with renovations completed on its foyer, backstage area and Revelations Chapel, as well as additional car parking spaces.
