Explore Rockhampton’s famous Capricorn Caves, a series of limestone caverns formed 390 million years ago. Join the Cathedral Cave Tour to learn about the ancient origins and early explorers of this underground labyrinth and experience the remarkable acoustics of the beautiful Cathedral Cave.
The natural rock phenomenon is home to corals, stalactites and prehistoric fossils that you can see on a specialised GeoDiscovery Tour. If you’re lucky, you might also catch a glimpse of the cave’s inconspicuous bats hanging from the ceiling.
Daring explorers can don a hard hat and head torch for an Adventure Caving Tour for the opportunity to go rock climbing, commando crawling and abseiling. Featuring tight spots that go by names like “Fat Man’s Misery”, this tour isn’t for the faint-hearted. After a day of exploring, enjoy a steak dinner at the famous Caves Country Pub and see why Rockhampton is the beef capital of Australia.
